Pole barn labor cost
Labor is not the same thing as a kit price. A DIY kit is materials. An installed shell includes erection. Mixing those numbers produces a meaningless average.
Where labor sits in the estimate
BarnCost adds erection labor for installed-shell and turnkey configurations. DIY kit estimates do not include installation labor, even if many kit buyers later hire a crew.
Regional labor differences are modeled as regional factors, not as a second guess at the shell price. Factors are applied only when documented data exists.
What labor usually does not include
Unusual site work, interior trades beyond the selected features, and long-distance mobilization are not generic labor. They belong in site prep, electrical, or exclusions until there is evidence for a unit cost.
